Chelsea Peitz has been in the real estate industry for 21 years. The last five have been focused solely on helping real estate agents, brokerages, mortgage pros & title sales execs learn how to use social media to create a powerful personal brand.
In this interview from the Video Remarketing Summit, Chelsea discusses how she never expected social media to have as big of an impact as it does. She believes that you can actually become MORE human through social media. We have this device at our fingertips at all times where you can possibly reach millions of people to share your passion and give people a look into who you are on all levels. Video has absolutely changed the trajectory of where she is currently in her business.
Chelsea explains the psychology behind using video and how our brain processes video the same way it would if we were face-to-face. She hated video at first but pushed through because she knew how crucial it was. With practice, she has gotten more comfortable and encourages people to do the same. It is normal to feel uncomfortable and expected to be self-critical, but you will not become a more advanced video content creator unless you get past that and do it every day.
Chelsea shares that creating video content has allowed her to connect with amazing people and opened up many opportunities. For example, she has presented at numerous nationally recognized real estate events, including Inman Connect & Gary V’s Agent 2021.
She explains that trust is an essential part of sales. Using video has made that so much easier because it accelerates that trust and that recognition. If they continue to watch your content, they are already likely to make a decision to like you even if they don’t realize it.
Showing your personality, smiling, connecting with your audience are bits and pieces of being authentic, and being authentic is necessary for content creation.
When you are starting out, it can feel intimidating, overwhelming and you could talk yourself out of it. But think about content as just telling a story. Please don’t put too much pressure on yourself to figure it all out right away.
